Why people look for a custom sleep earplug

Illustration: custom sleep earplug in the ear

A sleep earplug stays in the ear for many hours, often while you lie on one side. That is why ready-made foam plugs disappoint so many people: they press after an hour, work their way out during the night, or end up in the bed by morning. Others simply want something they can use night after night instead of a disposable pair.

The reasons we hear from English speakers in Israel are familiar: a city apartment above a busy street, building work next door, neighbours with different hours, air-conditioning units outside the bedroom window, a partner who snores, or night shifts that mean sleeping during the day.

Sleep earplugs and noise earplugs are different

An earplug for the night and an earplug for a noisy workplace are made for different uses. A sleep earplug is designed for long, comfortable wear while lying down; a noise earplug is designed for noisy environments while you are awake and moving. If you need both, tell us in advance. Before you order: think about what you need to hear

Any earplug that reduces sound at night can also make it harder to hear things that matter: a smoke alarm, a baby, a parent you care for, or the alarm clock. Before ordering, think about who and what you need to hear during the night, and tell us. Some people keep a vibrating alarm or arrange another solution; that decision depends on your household, and only you can make it.

Tell us also whether you sleep on your side, how many nights a week you expect to use the earplugs, and what has gone wrong with earplugs you tried before. Those details shape what is made.

How it works

Illustration: the four steps of a custom earplug — consultation, impression or scan, production to your measurements, and keeping the measurements for reorders
  1. A conversation about how and where you will use the earplugs.
  2. We come to you by appointment, at home or at work, anywhere in Israel.
  3. The measurement is taken with an ear impression or a scanning process, depending on the ear and the use.
  4. The earplugs are made to the measurement, from a flexible material.
  5. They are sent to you.

The production time is given after the measurement is taken. When possible, the measurements are kept so that a reorder is easier.

Care and comfort

Clean the earplugs regularly according to the instructions you receive, keep them in their case during the day, and do not share them. If an earplug feels uncomfortable after it arrives, contact us: repair and refit options are checked case by case. When the measurements were kept, a reorder may not need a new measurement.

When it is not about the earplug

If you have ringing in the ears that keeps you awake, ongoing difficulty sleeping, ear pain or a feeling of blocked ears, speak to a doctor. Earplugs are not a treatment for these. If you notice that you struggle to hear during the day as well, a hearing test may be a sensible next step; see also our custom earplugs overview.

Frequently asked questions

Will a custom sleep earplug block all noise?

No. We do not promise silence. The earplug is made from the measurement of your ear for wearing at night.

Can I sleep on my side with them?

Tell us that you sleep on your side before the measurement. It is part of the conversation about what suits you.

Is a sleep earplug the same as a noise earplug?

No. They are made for different uses. If you need both, tell us in advance.

How long does production take?

The production time is given after the measurement is taken.

Can I order another pair later?

When the measurements were kept, a reorder may be possible without a new measurement. Suitability is checked each time.
